The grading for this assignment is 100% for both correct scores and 50% for one correct score. FOR THIS EXERCISE: Any abutment, crown, veneer (resin or porcelain) inlay, onlay, or occlusal restoration on a crown (usually placed due to RCT) will be considered COSMETIC, meaning it was NOT restored due to decay. Any tooth missing under a pontic or missing and has an implant is NOT counted in the DMF for this assignment. It was removed for a reason other than decay. All other extractions are considered missing due to decay (even if previously the tooth extracted was a crown). Cracked teeth, attrition, or abrasion are NOT counted. Basically, you are looking at amalgam and composite restorations, suspicious areas (even under crowns), and missing teeth. Look at the legend under the charting or right-click on the tooth to determine the tooth surfaces. Please keep in mind teeth NOT counted in a DMF: Teeth removed for reasons other than dental caries, such as an impaction or during orthodontic treatment.
