Using three example texts, discuss reactions to slavery and ideas of abolition in the writings of Americans we read this semester. Here are some ideas to get you thinking about this topic: What genres did writers use to address slavery? What were the strongest voices about slavery? What were the arguments in favor of abolition? You may also include ideas taken from writers who address the dignity and worth of all human beings. (You do not have to answer all the questions.)
