Mrs. Alаn is аn оbese 45 yeаr оld female cоming to you for her quarterly diabetic, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia visit. When collecting her history she indicates that before starting glucophage she was finally starting to "shed the pounds" and now she feels like she "hit a wall" with her weight loss after losing 10 lbs. in last 6 months. She denies heat/cold intolerance, changes in skin, hair, or nails, or changes in bowel movement or menses. She admits to eating healthier diet and exercising 30 min 5 days out of the week. Her physical exam is unremarkable. In addition to ordering her routine labs you add a TSH to reflex with T3 and T4. You get the following labs: TSH 25.4 (n= 0.45-4.5mU/dl), with T3 70 (n=80-180 ng/dl) and T4 0.5 (n= 0.7-1.9 ng/dl). What is your next best plan of action?
