Pt. is аn 8 yeаr оld femаle child whо has a diagnоsis of cerebral palsy (spastic quadriparesis, Gross Motor Function Classification Scale level 3).  She demonstrates extensor spasticity in bilateral adductors, hamstrings, heelcords, biceps, and wrist flexors. She is able to transfer with a walker independently with increased  time.   She ambulates household distances with a walker and utilizes a wheelchair for community mobility.  She can propel a manual wheelchair with increased time and effort.  During propulsion she tends to adduct her LE’s excessively and extend her bottom off of the seat and her legs off of the foot plates as well as lean to the right.  She has no other remarkable past medical history.  She is average height and weight.  She lives with her mom and dad in a 2 bedroom apartment in a metro area.  She attends the 2nd grade at a local public elementary and is transported there via a bus.  Their building does not have an elevator.  They do not have a car and rely on public transportation. What type of wheelchair (manual or power) would you recommend and WHY?
