Once yоu hаve reаd thrоugh eаch sectiоn, please put your initials in the answer box. Permitted Materials and Resources Closed Notes Exam: Proctored exams are a closed notes. You are not permitted to use any notes, textbooks, websites, or any other external sources, including help from another person, during the exam. You must complete all work independently. Scratch Paper: The scratch paper provided to you must be blank at the start of the exam. You MUST show both sides of your scratch paper to the camera before beginning your exam. You may use this paper for any calculations or work during the exam, but it must remain blank until the exam begins. Keep your scratch paper safe; if requested, you may need to email a copy of your scratch work to your instructor. Do not write on any other materials or surfaces, such as your computer or walls, during the exam. Electronic Devices: The use of any electronic devices, such as cell phones, tablets, headphones, ear buds, air pods, laptops, smartwatches, or a second monitor, is strictly prohibited during the exam. These devices must be turned off and placed out of sight during the exam. Any secondary monitors present in the room MUST be off and covered up. Cell phones must be turned off, not just silenced, and placed away from your workspace.
Exаm Envirоnment аnd Mоnitоring Your hаnds, face, and workspace must be visible at all times: You are required to be in an isolated, quiet testing area. Sitting at a desk/table with no other person/device present. You are required to remain in view of your computer for the entire duration of the exam. Your hands, face, and workspace must be continuously visible through the webcam for the duration of the exam. The webcam must remain active for the entire exam. I understand that my webcam will be placed to the side of me, up against the wall and in a corner. I understand that I may have to move my desk in order to make this setup work. This placement will allow for full view of myself and workspace for the duration of proctored exams. Any attempt to block or disrupt the webcam feed may result in the exam being invalidated. If you are observed looking off camera in a suspicious way, you will receive a zero. If you talk or another person is heard talking in the background, you will receive a zero. Room Scan Requirement: Before beginning the exam, you will be required to perform a room scan. The scan must be a slow, thorough pan of the room, ensuring the following: A clear view of your workspace area on top of your desk. A good view of the area under the desk to ensure no unauthorized materials are present. The scan should include ALL walls, your workspace, and the bottom of your desk to confirm no unauthorized resources are available. Failure to perform an adequate room scan may result in a zero for the exam.
