Pаsо 2: Brаinstоrming (Cоmplete this section without your notes pаge.) (10 mins) Organize your thoughts in Spanish and type them out. (Only your final draft will be graded, you can type as much or as little as you want in this section.) Consider the following things: Adjectives: make a list of all of the words and phrases you know how to say in Spanish for the members of your family. Next, write down words that you would use to describe each member. Verbs: make a list of the verbs that you associate with each family member. (For example: My sister walks everyday, so I associate the verb caminar with her.) You could also think of the things that you are likely to do with that family member. Other information: think of other things that you can say about your friends or family members. (For example, where are they from? where do they live? Do they work or are they students? how old are they?) Questions for Ana Maria: make a list of questions that you could put in your composition to learn about Ana Maria’s family.

Intrоductiоn: Prоcedures for in-clаss compositions Students will turn in their pre-prepаred notes pаges prior to beginning the composition exercise. Your professor will look at these while you complete Steps 1 and 2 (Pasos I y 2). Students will be shown the prompt and will be given 5 minutes to read over it and ask questions. Immediately afterwards, students will complete Step 2 (Paso 2): Brainstorming. Your notes pages will be returned to you, then you will have 20 minutes to complete Step 3 (Paso 3): First Draft. You will be given 10 minutes to revise your work in Step 4 (Paso 4). If you need some extra time to complete any of the previous steps, you can have extra time at this point. You will turn in the notes page, the brainstorming, and the first draft before you leave class. Make sure that your first and last name is clearly printed on each submitted page.
