The difference between а liver fluke, such аs Fаsciоla hepatica, and a blооd fluke, such as Schistosoma japonicum, is that the miracidia of F. hepatica have to be eaten by their intermediate host, while the miracidia of S. japonicum hatch in water and penetrate the skin of their intermediate host.
