Ted wаs skiing in the beаutiful mоuntаins оf Small Tоwn when he accidentally veered off the trails and became lost. After wandering for two days in the mountains with no cell service or food, he spotted a cabin in the distance. He approached and knocked on the front door. The sole occupant, Elaine, shouted from behind the closed door, “Who are you? What do you want?” Ted lied and stated that he was with the fire department and was there to inspect the home. Once Elaine opened the door, Ted punched her in the face and went directly to her kitchen and frantically rummaged for food. Elaine, believing that Ted was going to kill her, grabbed a lamp from the dining room table, approached Ted from behind, and hit him over the head while he was munching on Cheezy Puffs from her pantry. With Ted now unconscious, she bound his hands and feet, then tied him to her tractor.  He woke up as she was in the process of dragging him to the nearby river to push him in. Fortunately for Ted, Small Town's Police showed up before she could drown him.  Small Town has adopted the common law; Small Town is also a “Stand Your Ground” jurisdiction.   What crimes, if any, has Ted committed? Discuss, including any applicable defenses. What crimes, if any, has Elaine committed? Discuss, including any applicable defenses.

We spent multiple clаss sessiоns discussing MNC strаtegy. Belоw аre three scenariоs that involved a strategic decision to be made by an MNC. Answers will not be scored based on my assessment of the probability of success for the chosen strategy, but rather your ability to defend your strategic choice based on the concepts we have discussed in class. Make sure to label each part of your answer (e.g., A, B, C) so that it’s easy to match your responses with the corresponding question. [15 points total] Imagine you are Uber back in 2011 when your only operations were in the United States and Europe. You are looking to expand to a new part of the world. Which country would you choose to expand to next? You cannot pick a Western European country or Canada. Using the CAGE framework, defend your decision to expand to that country (i.e. why is that country a good choice). Your answer must include all four dimensions of the CAGE framework to receive full credit. [5 points] Imagine you are Walmart, and you need to decide how to handle your Christmas decorations business. One senior manager suggests that Walmart take over this manufacturing (in-house production) and move the manufacturing to the United States (domestic). Specific to Walmart and the issues it has been facing in this part of the business, what advantages does this new arrangement provide? What would be the biggest drawbacks of this proposal? [5 points] Imagine you are at Lego, and you are trying to decide how best to handle the manufacturing of your toy bricks (Lego pieces). Which of the following options would you choose: domestic in-house production, domestic outsourcing, offshore in-house production, or offshore outsourcing? Defend your decision by explaining the advantage of your choice over the other options. To get full credit you need to make the argument specific to Lego’s business and its current strategic advantages. Just saying the generic advantages of each option without relating it to Lego will not earn full credit. [5 points]
