In this essay, begin first by defining civil liberties, civil rights and then the discuss the key "tensions” that come into play as raised in video lectures. Then, describe how our majority rule system at the national and state level can create tensions with both liberties and rights sought by individuals or groups. In your answer, be sure to illustrate using examples from our text or videos of areas of liberties and rights that come into conflict.
