On the pоsitive side оf the Cоlumbiаn Exchаnge, the most beneficiаl early trade items were potatoes, maize, sweet potatoes, peanuts, tomatoes, beans, squash, pumpkins, tobacco, turkeys, and bison from Natives and wheat, barley, sugar cane, apples, peaches, melons, citrus fruit, spices, horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens from Europeans. The trade of food items became a major staple in defining cultural patterns and trade for the next several hundred years.
