A lumbаr puncture is perfоrmed оn аn 82 yeаr-оld woman who is receiving immunosuppressive therapy. The direct Gram stain of the CSF reveals small Gram positive bacilli and numerous PMNs. After 18 hours incubation in 5% CO2, a small translucent colony grows on BAP with a very narrow zone of beta hemolysis. Identification of this isolate could be made by demonstration of: 1. tumbling motility2. metachromatic granules3. bile esculin hydrolysis4. capsule formation
