Reаd the fоllоwing medicаl recоrd documentаtion and answer the question below. Neurology Note: The patient states that she has been forgetful, intermittently, over the past year or so. She discussed this with her primary care physician and was told that she likely has Alzheimer’s disease. Then, she was prescribed Donepezil and was told that she should not drive. This scared her and she has come here for a second opinion, so she now presents for neurologic consultation for possible Alzheimer’s disease. Summary: This patient is a pleasant 77-year-old right-handed female with a history of COVID-19-induced pneumonia, which has resolved as of three months ago. I reviewed her previous MRI and the radiologist’s report, which showed some mild atrophy. Most recent lab work results, included RPR, TSH, and B12, were all within normal limits. Patient admits feeling angry over misplacing items and finding some everyday tasks more difficult. After my examination, it is likely the patient is experiencing mild dementia, most likely Alzheimer’s type. Tactfully, the patient’s diagnosis was explained to her. Her facial expression indicated that she felt reassured by our discussion and then stated this. She was told that this most likely was in the earlier stages of the disease and she would benefit from trying Donepezil. She stated that she did not have the prescription anymore, so I electronically sent a prescription to her local drugstore for Donepezil 5 mg tablet at bedtime, for three weeks. The patient herself seemed very concerned about the stigma of the disease, but after our lengthy discussion, she expressed genuine understanding as to why her physician expressed concern about her driving. It was explained clearly why it is important for her not to get behind the wheel of her car. She was given an appointment for six months from now, and she promised she will call us if she has any problems with Donepezil. If she has no side effects, including GI (nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea) side effects, then she needs to call into our office, and we will change her prescription to increase up to 10 mg a day. Q: The most common side effects from taking Donepezil include problems with:
