If not, he could certainly could have found a way. "So you decided to break into my apartment and consume all of the chocolate?" I asked.  It was clear that the boy had been lying, and his guilt-ridden face confirmed it. After another hesitation, he finally spoke up. "Okay that's not what really happened. But if I told anyone the truth, they would turn me into [laughingstock]!  They would be [stitches]! His expression had changed from surprisingly calm (given the circumstances) to the red, creased look of anger [twinkling]. It was clear that this boy [heartsleeve] "Well...my main goal was to [packing] and try to get on with my life like usual, but now I'm super curious. What's your story?" "No!" he shouted, grabbing his backpack and bolting toward the door. I felt the whoosh of wind as he passed by me, leaping over the coffee table on his way to the door. Apparently I had left it open.
