After the politicians, he seeks out the poets because they say wise things, but discovers they do not understand why they say wise things. Hence they cannot be wise because if one were wise, they would know why they said wise things. 3.The last class of those he visits are the craftsmen and discovers they know their craft but think they know everything. Therefore they cannot be wise either. 4. Socrates concludes that he must be the wisest of all because he is the only one who realizes that he does not know.
