Mrs. Cооk аnd her 9-yeаr оld-son, Tommy, bring their newest pet into your hospitаl for a check-up. The Cooks have had a variety of pets in the last several years including insects, lizards, and small rodents. Tommy recently found a small abandoned rabbit while out playing in the woods near his house. Tommy caught the rabbit and brought it home as his new pet. Mrs. Cook wants to get the new rabbit, Turbo, examined to make sure it is healthy. Turbo is a young small rabbit with a ticked brown coat. The rabbit seems to be a wild rabbit, rather than domesticated. You ask the Cooks if the rabbit is wild and they tell you that it is, and that they think it was abandoned by its mother. Mrs. Cook tells you that she wants to work with Tommy on raising the rabbit and then to release it back into the wild when it gets old enough. She tells you that she is also helping several other wild animals right now (including a crow and a raccoon), and that she is also trying to get a baby deer that seems hungry to come eat near the house. She tells you that she doesn’t know much about helping wild animals, but has learned a lot on the Internet and she feels like she can make a difference.
