Reаd the selectiоn belоw.  1Once а virus, bаcteria, оr other pathogen enters your body, you can go through the five stages of a disease. 2First is the incubation period, which begins once the disease causing agent enters your body. 3During this time, the pathogens multiply and spread throughout your body. 4Next is the early-symptom stage. 5During this stage, the disease is highly contagious. 6Symptoms are usually general and mild. 7They can include fever, headache, sneezing and tiredness. 8The third stage, clinical disease, is the peak of the disease. 9Specific symptoms of the disease usually appear. 10For example, jaundice is a symptom of hepatitis. 11Swelling of the face along the jawbone is a symptom of mumps. 12Because symptoms develop that a doctor can observe, the disease can usually be diagnosed during this stage. 13Symptoms begin to disappear in the decline stage. 14Although you start to feel better, your body is still weakened from the disease. 15You can become worse if you become too active too soon. 16Sometimes you can still transmit the disease to others during this stage. 17Convalescence is the final stage during which your body recovers.18Most diseases are not contagious during convalescence.
