Rооm Scаn Requirements Befоre beginning eаch exаm, Honorlock will ask you to complete a room scan.  Students will not be permitted to take remotely proctored exams unless they are willing to conduct a room scan. By choosing to take the exam remotely, the student is consenting to the room scan of the area in which they take the exam. This scan should be done slowly enough so the instructor can verify that the exam is being taken under appropriate conditions. An appropriate room scan includes the following: a view of your computer and the immediate area surrounding it  a view of all cables that are attached to your computer and where those cables lead a 360º scan of your testing environment, including the floor around you, showing that no one else is in the room with you should last approximately 10-15 seconds You can practice a room scan at Honorlock Room Scan Practice. After the room scan, you will have to reposition your webcam to capture your entire workspace.  Requirements for the position of your webcam are detailed in the next question. Failure to record an appropriate room scan can result in a loss of points on the exam.  The first time a room scan is deemed inappropriate, you will receive a warning.  For each subsequent room scan that is deemed inappropriate, a 10 point penalty will be applied to your exam score.
