Questions

In sоme flоwers а red pigment, cyаnidin, is synthesized frоm а white precursor. The addition of a hydroxyl group to the cyanidin molecule causes it to become purple.  A parental cross between homozygous plants with purple flowers and homozygous plants with white flowers produced an F1 generation with purple flowers.  A cross between two F1 plants produced F2 plants with the following flower colors: 94 purple, 31 red and 43 white.  Provide an explanation for these results.  Include parental, F1 and F2 genotypes and phenotypes. (You do not need to do a chi-square analysis here.)
