Scenаriо: Yоu аre а university vоice professor. Two of your students, a mezzo-soprano and a tenor, present distinctly different challenges. The tenor sings in a very thin, nasal timbre and with a very fast vibrato and he tires very quickly, especially when singing in a high tessitura. The mezzo-soprano sings with a hollow, dark tone and frequently sings under the pitch. Assignment: Describe your strategies and processes for achieving technical progress with these two singers. Include general approaches as well specific vocalizes and instructions for each. Will there be any common ground between the two approaches?

The instructor skills validation is considered an exam and the current exam policy will be followed. Instructor skills validation is a timed exam and may combine more than one assessment and/or skill. The components of each assessment and/or skill must be demonstrated and assessment findings verbalized to the instructor to obtain the validation credit. Credit is provided to components completed within the time allotted. Any components demonstrated or verbalized after the time allottment has past will not be awarded. I will have one attempt at completing the assessment(s) and skill(s) with the instructor.
