Abоut the аssessment: Yоu’ll hаve 100 minutes tо complete the exаm. You’ll get one attempt with about 50 questions to showcase your knowledge of economic concepts, analysis, and critical thinking skills. The exam will include a mix of multiple-choice questions, calculations, graphing analysis, and short essay questions based on all of the assignments we have covered over the entire course. Please note, no personal calculators are allowed in the exam. During the exam, you are allowed: A. 3x5" notecard with any formulas or economic theory you want to jot down. B. A pen and blank piece of paper for your own graphing and calculations. You will be submitting both your notecard and scratch paper after the exam. (c) Fabrication includes falsifying data, information, or citations in completing an academic assignment and also includes provi The following are all of the the different methods in which students attempted to cheat during their economic exams last year: Using external devices such as a cell phone, tablet, or second computer Running a virtual machine to alter or hide the test environment Using an HDMI splitter or dual monitors to view test materials on another screen Having another person relay answers or assist off-camera Wearing smart glasses or hidden earpieces Hiring a paid test taker to complete the exam Every one of these methods has been successfully detected in last year's exams. I encourage you to focus on demonstrating your own understanding academic honesty is not only the right choice, but it’s also the safest one. Requirements for Honorlock Identification: A government-issued or student photo ID is required. Equipment: Make sure you have a working external camera, microphone, and a stable internet connection. Browser: Use Google Chrome with the Honorlock extension installed (https://chrome.comLinks to an external site.). Testing Area Sit at a clean desk or table that is against a wall. Ensure the room is well-lit, preferably with overhead lighting. Clear the desk or table of all materials. Ensure your external camera is placed to the side with full view of you, your keyboard, and your monitor. If asked, perform a complete 360° room scan, including your workspace. Partial scans or failing to show your workspace may be flagged. Keep your laptop charged or have the charger within reach. Prohibited Items/Actions No visible writing on the desk or walls. No websites or applications other than Canvas and Honorlock and the digital textbook. Close all other programs and browser windows before starting the exam. Avoid background noise (music or TV). No communication or assistance from others (except Honorlock support or your institution’s help desk). No additional people are allowed in the room. You cannot take the exam in a public place, this includes taking the exam in environments such as libraries, classrooms and study centers (补习班) where other people are present. Using a phone or any electronic device other than the testing device is not permitted unless it is being used as your external camera. Do not leave the room until you have finished. Do not move to another location after starting the exam. Headphones and smartwatches are not allowed. Dual monitors are not allowed. Specific behaviors that may constitute cheating during an exam taken via Honorlock include, but are not limited to: Using unauthorized notes, textbooks, or external websites (unless explicitly allowed). Looking away from the screen repeatedly or for extended periods. Using a second device (phone, tablet, etc.) during the exam. Having unauthorized people in the room while testing. Wearing earbuds or headphones. Attempting to disable or bypass Honorlock software.
